Morocco Kicks Out BBC Journalist

RABAT A BBC journalist seeking to return to Morocco has been turned away at the border, a source close to the government said Sunday. Nicholas Pelham, who has worked in Morocco the past nine months, but without official accreditation, was turned away Saturday at the border with the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in the north, the source said. Pelham, who is also a stringer for the Economist, had been living in Morocco without a residency permit, the source said.

Moroccan politicians have described some of his recent work as insulting, defamatory or false. The BBC has two other journalists in Morocco, an Arabic speaker and a French speaker. (AFP)
